Do I have a lawsuit if the airbags did not deploy in my auto accident?

I was driving my SUV and hit a tree head on driver’s front end and side door took full impact. Airbags did not deploy. Broke my left leg in four places and broke right hand in two several other lacerations and pulmonary contusions.

There are many reasons that an airbag does not deploy. These are not made to release on every impact. The points of impact will determine if these should be deployed. Secondly, the air bags are there to lessen the impact. These will not totally prevent injury.

The manufacturer and seller of a product can be held liable for injuries caused by a defect of the product. You would have to prove that there was a defect in the design or manufacture of the product. Any case against the manufacturer of an automobile will be met with strenuous resistance. It would seem that the airbags certainly should have deployed, given that this was a high-speed impact involving the front end. An expert would have to be engaged to examine the vehicle and determine why the airbag did not deploy, and if failed due to a law in the design or installation, the manufacterer of the vehicle should be held liable.
